WELCOME TO

“It is not about what you leave for the children that counts, it’s what you leave in them.” This true depiction of what a legacy means to Dr. Kris and the staff members of KION Pediatrics sets the tone for the cornerstone of the practice. At KION Pediatrics, it’s about connecting, passion, and service.

Meet Dr. Kris

Dr. Kris Nwokeji was born in Austin, in the state of Texas to Nigerian parents. His parents' relocation to the motherland and his incessant thirst to help children brought him to medical school at Abia State University at the young age of 16. Upon completing his degree with distinction, Dr. Kris relocated back to the U.S. where he continued on his medical journey at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons, Harlem Hospital Center. After a brief pediatric endocrinology research experience at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania and being a General Pediatrician in New Jersey, he would soon be led to Newport, Arkansas. Here he would go on to serve the people of Newport and Searcy for 10 fulfilling years as well as serving the state of Arkansas in his role as a Commissioner of the Arkansas Minority Health Commission (AMHC). He is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the American Medical Association (AMA). Along with his loving wife and four children, Dr. Kris made the decision and is excited to continue his service in the fine city of Jonesboro.
